Bio

Hello and welcome! My name is Erin Collins and I have 10+ years of classroom teaching experience in the Greater Seattle area. After completing my Master in Teaching from UW Seattle, I taught in a Title I school in the Seattle School District.  Eventually, I settled into Shoreline School District for 10 years

As you can see below, I have extensive training in evidence-based math and reading instruction, best practices for teaching and learning, and a commitment to equity in education. Science has taught us much about how students learn, I am committed to staying up-to-date on current research and best practices.

Different types of learners thrive in different learning environments. It is important for kids to understand “what works for them” so they can develop tools and strategies for independent learning. While delivering high-quality math instruction, I coach them in study and organizational skills, so they can develop good academic habits. As students apply strategies and tools to gain understanding, they begin to build confidence. My goal is to help your child grow into an independent , life-long learner.
